2. Training is more formal than awareness. It aims to build knowledge and skills to enhance competency in job performance. Whereas awareness is generally targeted at all staffs, training is directed at staff with specific functions and responsibilities. For example, staffs involved in the recovery should be equipped and adequately prepared with the necessary knowledge and skill to undertake recovery activities. Training forms part of the awareness, training and education learning continuum.

4. Extends beyond job competency produced by training. It integrates skills and competencies into a common body of knowledge to instil in staff the capability of insight, vision and proactive response. For example, staff should be trained to select the appropriate recovery strategy in response to changes in external environment and business operations. Education is the capstone of the awareness, training and education learning continuum.
