Zaffarin Hj Zanal
Introduction
Zaffarin currently serves as the
since 15 April 2010. He previously served in the same capacity for AmanahRaya Investment Management (“ARIM”) and ran the risk management program in the company. In this role he was responsible primarily for strengthening the overall risk management architecture of the AmanahRaya Group in accordance with the strategic business direction of the organization. At the same time, Zaffarin also directs the Group’s Information Technology Development initiatives and the Business Continuity Management program.
Prior to this, Zaffarin spent 5 years with Bank Negara Malaysia in the Treasury Risk Management unit overseeing the conduct of operations in the management of the country’s International Reserves. Besides being involved in the formulation and enhancement of investments processes and treasury risk-related framework, his tenure there also includes experience in several organizational development initiatives, business continuity programs and often led efforts in IT-related projects especially. Zaffarin began his career in 1998 with Wachovia Corporation (formerly known as First Union National Bank) in Charlotte, North Carolina as a specialist to the Consumer Credit division, whereby in his 3-year tenure he was also involved in system-related business process improvement and automation initiatives. Zaffarin graduated cum laude of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Economics, with emphasis in Business Administration).
