This section describes the content (Part A,B and C) of the BC plan template.

Part A: Introduction

Part A is the introduction to the Business Continuity Plan (BC Plan) template.

  • Accountibiity: This part is "owned" by the Organization BCM Coordinator. He or she controls the standardisation of the entire bC plan for the organisation.
  • In the event that the Business Continuity Plan (BC Plan) is activated, the BU Coordinator or the Alt BU Coordinator (if the BU Coordinator is not available) is to follow the procedures in this manual.

Part B

Part B of this plan sets out the sequential procedures to be undertaken upon activation for the entire organization.

  • Accountibiity: The Organization BCM Coordinator will determine the sequence and integration of al the business unit plan (Part C) with the corporate level plan (Part A & Part B).
  • In the event of a disaster, each BU BCM Coordinator is to reference the business unit recovery (Part C) to sequence as shown in Part B and follow through with the procedures that he or she is responsible for.

Part C

Part C of this plan sets out the requirement to be undertaken upon activation by the business unit.

  • This plan is written for the Business Unit (BU) BCM Coordinator or BU Coordinator and the Alternate Business Unit BCM Coordinator (Alt BU Coordinator).
  • In the event of a disaster, each BU Coordinator or appointed Recovery Team Leader and the Recovery Team members is to refer to Part C and follow through with the business unit’s procedures that he or she is responsible for.
  • Accountibiity: The BU BCM Coordinator and the Head of Business Unit shall be accountable to senior management and audit for the accuracy of the content and the BCM readiness level as spelt out in Part C.
