1. Data Sychronization is the recovery and reconstruction of data to the conditions that existed at the point in time prior to the interruption so that the processing function can restart. See Re-sync.

This is a process during the recovery of a data system. Unsuccessful Sychronization of data may result in processing functions re-starting using databases from multiple point in time.
