1. Exercise Safety Officer is an officer with BCM responsibilities assigned to ensure that any actions during the BCM test and exercise are conducted safely.

2. Person tasked with ensuring that any actions during the exercise and testing are performed safely.
Notes (1) : Usually relevant to a "live play" exercise.
Notes (2) : The Exercise Safety Officer should be involved from the planning of the exercise and testing until after the debriefing ([SOURCE: ISO 22300])
