Nicholas Rushton Young
Nicholas Rushton-Young is currently the Regional Head of Business Continuity Crisis Management at RBC Capital Markets and was a senior consultant with GMH Continuity Architects. Prior to that, he was the former Regional Business Continuity Manager for the Bank of America Business Continuity Manager of the year 2008, managing emergency response, business resumption; BCP plans, BIA`s, Risk Assessments to strategies and command centres; including pandemic planning, to training and awareness across Asia Pacific Japan.
Nicholas has worked for the world’s largest business continuity and disaster recovery service provider including Sema Global Recovery Services, Schlumberger Business Continuity and HP Business Continuity. His work includes relocation projects for customers in the financial sector before and during major incidents such as terrorist attacks, as well as recovery testing and hot site assessment and selection. He has held senior positions carrying high responsibilities, managing up to 923 Users during invocations and testing; held positions such as Global Head Business Continuity Management of a bank VPH, VP for Business Continuity, Head of Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Leader of Incident Response Team (IRT), Leader Salvage Team, Head of the Crisis Management Team, handling incidents from earthquakes to SARS; robberies at branches to terrorist attack to fires.

He was previously the Regional Business Continuity Manager for the Bank of America Bank of America, Business Continuity Manager of the year 2008 responsible for governance and framework; Business Impact Analysis, Forming BCM/IT Strategies, BCM Planning, BCM Awareness and Training, BCM Testing, overseeing the process through BCM Steering Groups including regulators, meeting with the Executive Committee and the Board. Overall responsibility to dramatically enhance the BCM environment on time and to the agreed budget.
He was previously the BCM Global Head and Community of Excellence for BCM/DR, APJ, with Symantec Global Consulting. He has designed, delivered, and run business continuity crisis management programs to disaster recovery centres for customers including in-house, including some 25 command centres. He has conducted Risk Assessments, BIA`s, constructed plans, implemented Crisis Management Frameworks for Front, middle and Back Office for Abbey National-AXA Investments, Barclays Capital, CNN, Credit Swiss First Boston, Goldman Sachs, Fidelity Investments, Chase Manhattan Bank, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, National Australia Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, Siam Bank, HP Business Continuity Services and many more.
