Edward Tang
Edward Tang is an Associate Instructor with BCM Institute.
Edward is highly experienced with many years of corporate experience in Out-of-Home Media, Journalism, Corporate Communications and Public Policy and International Relations. With more than 10 years in a supervisory position, he is proficient in managing P&L performance, business development, sales and marketing, brand management, media relations and corporate communications. His versatility, adaptability and resourcefulness are his key strengths in enabling to transition successfully between careers from the Foreign Service to Journalism and Corporate Communications to Business Management at senior levels.
His key achievements are turning around a loss-making business into a profitable entity in Singapore Press Holdings, implementing crisis communication strategy during SARS and Nicoll Highway Collapse in a government ministry, directing news coverage of the Straits Times Thailand Bureau during one of the most tumultuous periods, and co-developing the curriculum of the Mass Media Diploma Programme for PSB Academy.
Past Employment
Prior to joining BCM Institute, Edward was the Vice President & Head (OUT-OF-HOME MEDIA) for Singapore Press Holdings. He spearheaded a new revenue stream in Out-of-Home (OOH) Media business. He was also the Media Consultant responsible for developing curriculum for inaugural Mass Media Diploma Programme for PSB Academy. He conducted training courses in press release writing, media relations and crisis communications. He was also the DY Director and Communications / International Relations at Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports. He supervised a team of 13 in managing media and public relations and performed crisis communications during SARS (2003) and Nicoll Highway Collapse (2004).
Qualification
Edward Tang graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (2nd Upper Hons).
