Specification is an independent, third-party, verifiable, detailed and exact written set of requirement (such as ISO 22301 standard for BCMS) which provide publicly recognized means to an organization to demonstrate its commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of its Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
