2. Generically, an activity or set of activities that might be defined as part of a process. When used within a phrase such as 'Standard Operational Task' it defines a well documented, controlled, proceduralised and, usually, low-risk activity. The procedure controlling the manner in which the task is carried out would be subject to formal Change Control.
