Dr Goh Moh Heng is the President of BCM Institute and the Managing Director of GMH Continuity Architects. Armed with his primary areas of expertise, which include Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP), Crisis Management and Communications, Dr Goh has helped many organizations, particularly those operating in the Asia Pacific and Middle-East Regions. In recognition of his continuous effort to raise the BC standard and awareness in Asia, Dr Goh Moh Heng was awarded the Business Continuity Lifetime Achievement Award in Europe from Continuity, Insurance and Risk Magazine on May 2012. Since 2012, Dr Goh is on the expert panel of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Network on Improving SME Disaster Resilience.


Prior to establishing BCM Institute and GMH Continuity Architects, Moh Heng held senior positions with a number of large organizations. During his career with the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, he was responsible for all aspects of its BC and contingency planning. At Standard Chartered Bank, he saw to the global implementation of its BC management and planning. He also managed the BC practice at PriceWaterhouse(Coopers).

Dr Goh also headed the development team responsible for developing the Singapore Standard (SS507:2004) for Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) service providers. The SS507 is the base document for the ISO/IEC 24762 Guidelines for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for Disaster Recovery (DR) Services. Dr Goh is instrumental in the implementation of the Singapore Standard SS540:2008 for BCM. Dr Goh is the Senior Advisor to the China Business Continuity Management Professional Committee, a quasi government agency responsible for BCM throughout China. In Singapore and Malaysia, Dr Goh had successfully assisted more than 15 organizations in achieving their SS540 and BS25999 organizational certification awarded by the major certification bodies.

Dr Goh Moh Heng is the President of BCM Institute. The institute trained and certified professionals in business continuity and resilience and operational resilience. Besides his extensive experience implementing business continuity, crisis management and disaster recovery plans and programmes since 1989, he is a regular contributor, speaker and season practitioner in auditing practices. Dr Goh's auditing experiences started with PwC. In Standard Chartered Bank Plc, Dr Goh was the Global Head responsible for the review and quality assurance of business continuity and crisis management Planning efforts for its 52 countries operating within the group. Dr Goh also served as the Senior Vice President/ Head of BCM, managing the global programme for GIC.

A well-regarded industry expert in Pandemic Influenza business continuity planning and he has assisted many organizations in their implementation of their business continuity plans pertaining to the previous SARS, H5N1 and now, the H1N1 Influenza A Pandemic preparedness. He had published several articles, created a BCMpedia (wkipedia) and authored a book on " Developing Your Pandemic Influenza Business Continuity Plan."

In Standard Chartered Bank Plc, Dr Goh was the Global Head responsible for the review and quality assurance of business continuity and crisis management Planning efforts for its 52 countries operating within the group. Dr Goh also served the Senior Vice President/ Head of BCM managing the global programme for GIC. During the last few years, he was instrumental in the development of two major national business continuity management (BCM) and IT disaster recovery (DR) standards that was published by SPRING Singapore. These standards had permitted both government/commercial organisations and BCM/DR services providers to be certified with the BCM standards. This standard forms part of the ISO22301 BCMS and ISO 24762 IT standard.

In January 2010, the BCM Institute led by Dr Goh had launched on Continuity Certified Auditors (BCCA) and Business Continuity Certified Lead Auditor (BCCLA) courses to be offered globally for both internal/external auditors and certification auditors. The specialisation by auditors in the niche area of BCM, CM and IT DR is regarded as an ideal set of skill. Additional Citation (GMH Pte Ltd's Implementation of ISO22301, BS25999 and SS540 for organizations)

Dr Goh had successfully assisted several organizations in achieving their SS540 and BS25999 organizational certification awarded by the major certification bodies. Since September 2010 last year till now, Dr Goh and his GMH consulting team with licensing of BCM personal certification training had assisted 20 organizations to implement their BCM programme and achieve with the successful award of ISO22301, BS25999 and SS540 organizational certification.

Dr Goh had successfully led a team to launch the Crisis Management certification. The certification is based on the three competency level of "Know", "Do" and "Manage" and the content is supported by the BCM Institute's body of knowledge. he certification includes Crisis Management Certified Expert (CMCE), Crisis Management Certified Specialist (CMCS) and Crisis Management Certified Planner (CMCP).
