KUALA LUMPUR, 23 OCTOBER 2008 - A new collaboration in Malaysia now provides business continuity management and disaster recovery planning courses.
The deal is between the Malaysian office of US technology firm CSC, Computer Systems Advisers (M) (CSAM), and the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Institute.
According to representatives from both organisations, the courses would help companies develop business continuity plans to help protect against unexpected business interruptions.
Under terms of the two-year memorandum of understanding, CSAM will market and deliver business solutions offered by BCM Institute in its portfolio of training products to meet critical business continuity and disaster recovery requirements for organisations.
State-of-the-art recovery
BCM Institute president Dr Goh Moh Heng said the memorandum further secures CSAM’s position as a leader in providing state-of-the-art technology-enabled solutions and services, specifically in the area of seamless disaster recovery contingencies to data centre-intensive clients.
“We look forward to sharing our ideals and best practices in the critical areas of business continuity management and disaster recovery planning together with CSAM to train corporations on how to safeguard their businesses from unexpected disasters,” said Goh.
CSAM’s general manager, customer services and support group, Lim Cheng Leong, added: “The collaboration with the BCM Institute allows CSAM to provide a more complete, end-to-end training solution in business continuity management and disaster recovery planning industry practices. This is timely, as large corporations, especially those in the financial services, have to comply with the statutory regulations to ensure the continuity of those businesses.”
BCM’s Goh said: “BCM Institute offers multiple instructors who are subject matter experts and industry practitioners. By utilising a knowledge framework to build operational resilience and effective response, our business continuity and disaster recovery experts are able to help companies identify potential business interruptions and safeguard their stakeholders and the reputation of the company.”
