Part 9: Holding Statements

Sample Holding Statements

A holding statement is a brief account of what the organisation is aware of and what actions it is taking in the face of the crisis at hand. This is a sample list of holding statements that you may find useful. Remember to follow the principles of issuing a holding statement

Your statement should include:

  • A factual title or headline
  • The date and time of occurance
  • The location of the incident
  • Basic details that have been confirmed
  • Actions your organisation is taking that you are willing to make public
  • An expression of compassion or empathy
  • Contact details of the CC Team and provide details on further updates
