1. Scenario Library is a repository for generic, real-life severe but plausible scenarios that can be used to design business service-specific scenario tests.

Scenario Library for Operational Resilience:

Notes (1): contains scenarios that consider the known risks and threats affecting the organisation’s important or critical business services.

Notes (2): can be obtained from previous incidents or near misses and other activities such as operational risk, stress testing or business continuity.

Notes (3): contains scenarios augmented and tailored to cover organisation- or industry-specific important or critical business services using the elements of potential impact from the mapping of inter-dependencies and inter-connectivity exercise for processes and resources such as people, processes, technology, facilities and information.

Notes (4): should be regularly examined and updated to reflect the latest risks identified. This risk is usually derived from an organisation’s risk/threat horizon scanning and intelligence gathering exercises.

Notes (5):provides a framework whereby specific scenarios for important or critical business services can be developed and relevant complicating factors added to ensure they meet the necessary severe but plausible scenarios criteria.
