1. Underpinning Services are services that reside behind multiple business services and are often crucial in the execution of Important Business Services.


Underpinning Services:

Notes (1): is also referred to as Transversal processes.

Notes (2): is one challenge for implementers during their attempt to identify the important business service. Often, it is difficult to determine whether the service falls under one of three categories: business services, internal services, or underpinning services.

Notes (3): facilitate the delivery of business services instead of being the primary purpose of the business services.

Notes (4): is usually not a client facing service.

Notes (5): is performed consistently over several critical-important business services.

Notes (6): is a crtical part of the business services.

Notes (7): will appear on the business services mapping exercise or map.
