Cyber Security Threats

2. Cyber threats are attempts to infiltrate or disrupt a computer network or system. These threats may originate from a variety of sources and any website or computer can be a potential target. Cyber threats may also target individuals or businesses in an attempt to obtain sensitive information through online or mobile channels.

3. Cyber threats to a control system refer to persons who attempt unauthorized access to a control system device and/or network using a data communications pathway. This access can be directed from within an organization by trusted users or from remote locations by unknown persons using the Internet. Threats to control systems can come from numerous sources, including hostile governments, terrorist groups, disgruntled employees, and malicious intruders.
