Emergency Response
1. Emergency Response is the reaction to an emergency or incident and its focus is to protect human life and the key organizational assets.
 Note: The emergency response component of the BC plan or DR plan should contain guidelines for incident management, the escalation process of incidents, and the procedure for disaster declaration.

3. The reaction to an incident or emergency to assess the damage or impact and to ascertain the level of containment and control activity required. In addition to addressing matters of life safety and evacuation, Response also addresses the policies, procedures and actions to be followed in the event of an emergency. 1) The step or stage that immediately follows a disaster event where actions begin as a result of the event having occurred.
