Related Term: Data Protection/Recovery Strategy - Category, Disaster Recovery, Cloud Service Model, Cloud-based Disaster Recovery. Notes (1):: RaaS is different from cloud-based backup services. RaaS protects data and provides standby computing capacity on demand to facilitate more rapid application recovery. Notes (2):: RaaS is part of the Cloud Service Model. It is similar to SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. Notes (3):: RaaS capacity is delivered in a cloud deployment model so recovery resources are only paid for when they are used, making it more efficient than a traditional disaster recovery warm site or hot site where the recovery resources must be running at all times.
